Artist Statement

Point Loma, San Diego. The late summer haze is covering the sky on a walk through the neighborhood. It’s the end of summer 2021 and the world is vying to come out of their lockdowns and continue life after a difficult couple of years. But the plant life all around us lives on, soaking up the soft glowing light of the morning haze. The colors of this palm shine, thriving as they do every year, a humble reminder that life will always find a way. A portal within a portal.
